BOULDER, Colo. -- When asked at his weekly press conference what the return of Hugh Charles and Josh Smith adds to the team's offense, Colorado head coach Dan Hawkins replied with one word: Speed.
The Buffaloes will take all the speed they can get, as they prepare for one of the nation's speedier teams in Florida State.
"They both look really good," Hawkins said when asked about Charles and Smith after Wednesday's practice. "They are both running well."
Charles has been out since the opening series of the Colorado State game with a strained hamstring. Smith has been out since the Buffaloes' second preseason scrimmage with a bruised kidney.
Given the fact that Smith was not able to do any conditioning for two and a half weeks after his release from the hospital, his performance in practice this week is all the more impressive.
