AY looks to get the offense back on track
Heading into this senior year, running back Albert Young hopes to go out with a bang, but first he has to get the offense back on the right track in practice. Young talks about the improvements they have to make, working against Iowa's defensive line in practice everyday, what he has seen from freshman Jevon Pugh, and much more.
Q: It looked like the defensive line was dominant today. Can you talk about going up against them in practice?
YOUNG: They're experienced. Those guys have been playing since they were freshmen and sophomores, so that's what you expect out of a veteran group. It's definitely tough going up against them and definitely, I think they know our plays. You get used to going up against the same guys everyday and you add in the fact that they're pretty good, we feel that we'll be prepared for whatever is thrown at us during the season.
Q: Can you talk about Jevon Pugh a little bit?
YOUNG: He runs hard. Just like all of us, he has a lot of improving to do. Being a freshman, just understanding the playbook there's a ways to go. He's definitely a hard runner though and I think he has a bright future.
Q: How has the offense looked so far?
YOUNG: At times, we look good and then we come out here today and it looks like there's a lot of improvement to do. We're not where we want to be, but we know we have people that can get the job done. Now we have to zone in on what we need to improve on because we've got a ways to go before this game. It's a good thing we don't play this Saturday. We've got another week.
