Defense steps it up

MountaineerIllustrated.com Appalachian State capped off its second practice of the day by taking the field for a controlled scrimmage. The scrimmage, which lasted a little more than two hours, was for the most part a defensive show.
The offense, of course, had its moments but for the biggest part of the afternoon the secondary locked down the passing game and aided in run defense quite effectively. Senior safety Titus Howard showed great anticipation throughout the day, as he stuffed the run on numerous occasions.
