Cottrill leads OBC to 15s 'Fest final
MORGANTOWN--In one long weekend, Poca's Noah Cottrill became a state of West Virginia natural resource.
In the annual Hoop Group Summer Jam Fest here, he led his Ohio Basketball Club to the 15-and-under overall championship Monday afternoon as a team composed of West Virginia, Kentucky and Buckeye State participants knocked off CBIZ of Columbus 84-68.
Cottrill, a liberal 6-foot-1, 2010 West Virginia University basketball commit, had help. On his team was another WVU '10 prospect, Chad Jackson; '10 Kentucky commit Dakota Euton, a prime '10 football prospect, Tyrell Willis; the younger brother of O.J. Mayo, and Morgantown High sophomore Jeff Allen--to name a few--but honestly . . .
It must have been like watching Jerry West play back in the day when the honorary doctorate of WVU was coming into his sophomore season at then-Green Bank.
Cottrill is a good four inches shorter than Mr. Clutch. He is not the rebounder the Hall of Famer was. He has yet to develop the hanging jumper made famous by No. 44.
