Signee Profile: Carlos Dunlap
How does a defensive end take a kickoff return all the way to the house for a touchdown? A forced fumble comes to mind. Maybe even a hand off at the goal line. But what if that was his purpose? What if this defensive end was also 260 pounds at the time? What if there is video evidence of not only that but of him chasing down a running back almost 55 yards? Most people would say that there is no ounce of truth in a story like that. Try telling that to Carlos Dunlap.
The former North Charleston (S.C.) Fort Dorchester five-star defensive end did it and said he would enjoy doing it again at the University of Florida.
"I love kickoff returns," said Dunlap, who has been timed running a 4.6-second 40-yard dash. "That'd be fun (to return kicks). (The Florida coaches) joke about that all the time when they talk about my highlight tape. They joke about putting me back there. I don't know if they're serious or not, but they say it."
