NIKE Lines Up
Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde lineman Tyron Smith was a relative unknown coming into last year's Los Angeles NIKE Camp.
At 15-years-old, Smith caught everyone's attention with his chiseled 6-foot-5 255-pound frame. After dominating position drills with brute force, Smith went on to earn Camp MVP. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Approximately 250 recruits attended the 2007 Los Angeles NIKE Camp. With football the focus, the campers hit SPARQ warm up drills and then went directly into position drills. While standout performers littered each position, the offensive line monopolized the spotlight with names like Tyron Smith, Matt Kalil, Max Tuioti-Mariner, Ryan Dannewitz and Vaughn Dotsy on hand.
