Roof focusing on basics
Spring practice for the Duke Blue Devils has included an interesting dichotomy this year.
On one hand, Duke welcomes back every starter on the offensive side of the ball and several contributors on defense from the 2006 season.
That means there aren't a whole lot of new names to learn for the 2007 season and gives the coaching staff reason to expect more precision this spring than in some years past.
On the other hand, the team is adjusting to life with new leadership in all facets of the game, as Peter Vaas takes over as offensive coordinator, head coach Ted Roof assumes defensive responsibility, and Danny Pearman handles special teams.
