Records fall at Night of Champions
The Night of Champions is a unique event at Texas A&M that the majority of schools across the nation don't have. In fact, most of the ones that do are places where current A&M head coach Dennis Franchione used to coach during his career.
But the Night of Champions isn't just a chance to show off the improvement of current players in the weight room this off-season. It's also a chance for recruits to check out Aggieland one extra time and meet with players after they performed in a different type of environment.
The annual event Wednesday night at G. Rollie White Coliseum drew a large number of recruits from Texas, including some big names that are still considering the Aggies.
But the Night of Champions isn't just for recruiting. It's the one time of the season where the weight room heavyweights get a chance to show off in front of their teammates and fans. A number of records fell Wednesday, which shouldn't come as any surprise. Breaking records is becoming a normal occurrence at the annual event.
