Davis enjoyed USC's junior day
Newberry (S.C.) defensive lineman Kenny Davis spent the day Saturday in Columbia attending the South Carolina Gamecocks' junior day and enjoyed the experience.
"It was a good day," the 6-foot-4, 295-pound Davis said. "The only negative thing was we thought it started at 8:00 that morning, but it really started at 11:00. So we got there way too early."
Davis, who bench presses 350 pounds, liked what he heard from USC's coaches.
"I spent a lot of time with coach (Brad) Lawing because he's their defensive line coach, and he told me he's going to be the recruiter for my school now, too," Davis said. "He was telling me about how he's trying to completely change the kinds of players they have on the defensive line and really trying to build it up. He thinks I'm the kind of guy that can help him."
