For Bill Self and sixth-ranked Kansas (19-4; 6-2), it was the same old song and dance against Texas A&M (19-3; 7-1) on Saturday night. After leading by double-digits in the second half, the Jayhawks fell apart late in the game, and couldn't hold off the Aggies. Acie Law's three-pointer from the corner with 20.5 seconds remaining in the game sealed the deal for Texas A&M.

"The game went just as we thought it would-- battling for points, ugly offense for both teams," said Self. "They (Texas A&M) showed a lot of poise. Acie Law took over and we had no answer for him late. We had an 11-point lead with the ball, and we waste a possession and they come down and make a three.

"Then, we waste another possession and they score, and all of a sudden 11 is six, and now they think they can win the game," he added. That was with 9:54 left. The outcome was very disappointing. We tried hard, we battled, and won the battle of the glass, but all-in-all we did not have an answer for Law late."

Kansas and Texas A&M traded baskets throughout the first 20 minutes of the game, but after leading by five-points at the half, the Jayhawks appeared to be in control of the game.

Kansas extended its lead to 11-points in the second half and, at that time, had Texas A&M up against the ropes. However, Self's squad was unable to deliver the knockout blow.
