Cal going national
Between 2003 and 2006, Cal's recruiting classes have consisted of nearly 90 percent of in-State prospects. Just 13 percent of recruits have entered Cal outside of the Golden State. However, 2007 has seen that number drastically increase. With the addition of Cameron Jordan yesterday, the Bears current class consists of over 30 percent - and more could be on the way.
No state stands out more than Texas, where Cal has thought seriously about increasing their recruiting effort.
Perhaps the biggest out of state surprise was the recent weekend visit of Round Rock (Tex.) Stony Point defensive back Trevin Wade. Hosted by Cal's top rushing threat next season, Arlington (Tex.) native Justin Forsett, Wade was very impressed with Cal after visiting Berkeley with his folks.
