Spartans target top 2008 quarterback
The de-commitment of Keith Nichol to Oklahoma may have a silver lining to it. It means that Coach Dantonio and his staff will be able to go after their own top-level quarterback prospect for the class of 2008. With teams like Michigan and Notre Dame signing five-star quarterbacks in 2007, the Spartans will offer a great opportunity for a signal-caller that wants an opportunity to make an early impact in college. SpartanMag.com caught up with a prospect that could have the talent to do just that, Sal Battles of Youngstown, Ohio.
SpartanMag.com spoke with the 5-foot-11, 205-pound Rayen High School product last night and he gave us some information about his game and his recruitment.
From a recruiting standpoint, Battles indicated that the amount of teams showing interest has been impressive. Schools showing interest include Illinois, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and others.
