Peterson declares for the NFL Draft
One of the most beloved players in Oklahoma's recent history is moving on to the NFL as Adrian Peterson officially declared for the 2007 draft on Monday afternoon.
Peterson became a symbol of Oklahoma's return to dominance under Bob Stoops as the former Rivals.com No. 1 recruit helped spearhead appearances in two BCS bowl games and one national championship game during his three-year stay in Norman.
It had been assumed that this would be Peterson's last season in a Sooner uniform, but college experience along with the relationships he developed made the decision much more difficult than he ever imagined.
But the most difficult thing for Peterson was walking away from his college career without the two things which lured him to OU in the first place, a Heisman Trophy and a national championship ring.
