Prince's Cats ended season with thud
HOUSTON - It's said that action speak louder than words and in terms of Kansas State's appearance at the inaugural Texas Bowl, despite the Wildcats speaking of the focus on the game, Coach Ron Prince's team shouted its lack of preparation and inspiration for playing Rutgers throughout a dreadful 37-10 loss at Reliant Stadium.
"We were very poor," Prince said after the loss. "I am responsible for that effort and that is obviously not something I am happy about. Overall, I thought that Rutgers was the better team tonight. It was a good growth experience for us this year, but not obviously the way we wanted the season to end."
Prince spoke throughout the season as a bowl game being "an obligation" to play another game, but the stats clearly show a team that failed miserably at that obligation.
Much of the problem was a skilled and focused Rutgers team that came to Houston with a strong gameplan and a will to win.
