Coples among N.C.’s elite in ’08 class
RALEIGH, N.C. - North Carolina's football class of 2008 looks to be another deep one, full of top-flight prospects. One of the state's top two-sport juniors, Kinston (N.C.) defensive end Quinton Coples, took advantage of his time in Chapel Hill this past summer at camp to learn techniques that elevated his game on the gridiron this fall.
While at North Carolina's camp last summer, the 6-6, 242-pound Coples impressed the UNC staff in place at the time enough to earn a scholarship offer.
As a result of the early interest shown by the Tar Heels, they are among Coples' early favorites. Other interested schools include Florida State, UCLA and Virginia Tech.
