Asante planning two final visits
Coffeyville Community College linebacker Larry Asante is a four-star prospect per Rivals.com who was moved to linebacker from safety after an injury at the position in the preseason. He registered 85 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, two blocked punts and an interception this season in helping his team to a bowl berth.
However, Texas A&M offered Asante as a safety. More specifically, they offered him at the whip safety, which functions almost as a third linebacker in their 4-2-5 defense.
Asante had three official visits left after taking trips to Kansas State and Iowa State earlier this season, and he spent this past weekend in Lincoln for an official visit with Nebraska.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Asante has scholarship offers from Texas A&M, Nebraska, Kansas State, Iowa State, Arkansas and Clemson.
