Five Questions - How did this happen?
How in the world did Texas lose this game?
This game was eerily reminiscent of the Horns' struggle against Kansas on the road two years ago, except for the small fact that Texas was able to pull out the dramatic win against the Jayhawks. Texas should have dominated both opponents, but the Horns inexplicably let two drastically inferior teams on paper hang around and make big plays.
Saturday's effort is really mind-boggling. On the surface, Kansas State didn't have an advantage at a single area of the game, yet the Wildcats were able to pull off one of the most shocking upsets of the college football season.
Give credit to Kansas State for making the necessary plays to secure the win, but it also has to be noted that Texas made monumental mistakes in every single phase of the game. Two critical fumbles by Jamaal Charles and Selvin Young, a dismal effort by the offensive line, a blocked punt deep in their own territory, dropped passes by the Texas receivers, yet another horrible showing by the Texas pass defense
take your pick.
