Garrett close to a decision
Ohio cornerback David Garrett made an unofficial visit to Iowa City this weekend to watch the Hawkeyes' game against No. 1 Ohio State. The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Garrett made the drive to Iowa with his coach at Painesville Harvey, Devlin Culliver.
Garrett, who moved from Cleveland to Painesville this past January, reconnected with a couple of his former Glenville teammates on Saturday, as Otis Merrill and Jermale Hines attended the game as well. Despite the outcome, a 38-17 win by Ohio State, Garrett said he enjoyed the atmosphere at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday night.
Currently, Garrett holds scholarship offers from Iowa, Indiana, Bowling Green, and Kent State, but the Hawkeyes have been his clear favorite since they offered back in August. While the cornerback originally intended to wait and make a decision later this year, a commitment could now come sooner rather than later, he said on Sunday.
