Pitt notes: A good day for Dorin
Seven true freshmen played in Pitt's 38-13 win over Virginia Saturday night, but the one newcomer who may have had Pitt fans (and coaches) the most excited was on the sidelines. However, after being hampered by injury throughout training camp, tailback Dorin Dickerson may be getting close to seeing time on the field.
"Yesterday was a good day for Dorin Dickerson," head coach Dave Wannstedt said on Wednesday. "It was probably the first time that I walked off the field and I said to the other coaches, 'that looked like the Dorin Dickerson that we know.'
"He's healthy, he was running tailback and he ran hard, he ran tough, he ran smart. So hopefully he's turned the corner. Now it's just a matter of getting him practice time and getting him caught up."
