Practice report: Ready for final scrimmage
The Tigers went through a shorts and shells workout prior to fall's final scrimmage on Thursday afternoon. Mizzou has not held a full-contact practice since the scrimmage on Saturday afternoon.
Stryker Sulak was held out of practice after getting a shot in his heel before practice. Sulak injured the heel in Tuesday's workout, but Gary Pinkel said afterward the injury was not serious. In fact, Pinkel said Sulak could scrimmage on Thursday.
Brad Ekwerekwu also might be able to scrimmage tomorrow. He shed the red pullover midway through practice, at his request. Pinkel said he now has no doubt that the senior receiver and team captain will be ready for the season opener against Murray State.
Tight end DeQuincy Howard missed the workout. Pinkel said he was in Texas attending to a family matter and would be back soon.
Mizzou's final scrimmage begins around 3:30 on Thursday and PowerMizzou.com will have live updates from Faurot Field.
