Defense confident heading into 2006 season
Much of the talk this preseason has been about the numerous strengths of the defense, and what the unit will be able to accomplish this season as a whole. That excitement is not only coming from fans, but from the players as well.
Junior defensive tackle Lionel Dotson says that so far, fall camp has really paid off.
"What we are working on is making us stronger and faster," said Dotson. "We focus on footwork and technique, and that's the type of stuff that makes you a better football player."
Dotson, has put on some muscle since last season, and is 6-foot-4 and currently weighs 278 pounds. But Dotson must give credit where credit is due.
"I've got to contribute that to a good summer program," Dotson said. "Everybody got in shape. I think this is the first camp where everybody showed up in shape."
