Seven years ago current Nebraska Athletic Director Steve Pederson and Executive Associate Athletic Director Mark Boehm were faced with a difficult situation.

Pederson and Boehm had to figure out a way to bring Pittsburgh out of the Big East Conference basketball cellar.

The final decision they came upon was to hire a little known coach at the time by the name of Ben Howland.
