Spring Football--Offense Review
Matt Moore was the most consistent signal-caller this spring and will enter fall camp No. 1 on the depth chart. He has the best command of the offense and has emerged as a team leader. Moore, however, still has a tendency to throw the ball high and lock onto receivers.
Meanwhile, Sean Canfield supplanted Ryan Gunderson as the No. 2 quarterback. Canfield displayed his strong arm and good touch on his passes. But perhaps the most impressive thing about him was his poise in the pocket and his effectiveness rolling out. Canfield, however, struggled with consistency at times.
Gunderson was the ultimate professional this spring despite falling to third on the depth chart. His knowledge of the system will make him a valuable asset to Moore and Canfield from the sidelines. The good news is if Moore struggles this season, Canfield has proven that Coach Riley shouldn't hesitate to send him into a game.
