Spring Review: Wilson takes over the reins
Not much separated quarterbacks John Parker Wilson and Marc Guillon over the first half of spring drills, as neither was particularly effective in the first scrimmage.
From that point forward, though, Wilson began to take charge.
He followed up a solid Tuesday practice with an efficient outing in the Tide's second scrimmage two days later, completing 17 of 24 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown.
Wilson's first of two touchdown passes to DJ Hall on A-Day illustrated why he's ahead of Guillon and Barnes. After using his feet to avoid pressure, Wilson stepped up and delivered a perfect strike to Hall for the score.
Mike Shula and Dave Rader will look to capitalize on Wilson's mobility and arm strength by moving the pocket off of play action.
