Offense getting up to speed quickly
EVANSTON-Seven spring practices are in the books for the Northwestern football team and head coach Pat Fitzgerald believes moving the start of spring ball to an earlier date has been paying big dividends, especially for the younger Wildcats.
"A lot of the young guys have shown their retention from the bowl practices is outstanding,'' he said. "We've been able to progress at the pace we wanted to when we (the coaches) anticipated we would not be able to. The guys have done a great job of getting into the film room and studying the playbook on their own, so the retention is pretty good.''
