Kish and Stoops Not Letting Go of Arizona
Last year the story in the early months of Oklahoma's recruiting was a renewed presence by the Sooners on the West coast brought about by the return of Mike Stoops as defensive coordinator alongside the hiring of his former defensive coordinator, Tim Kish, as Oklahoma linebackers coach. That presence led to numerous early offers and paid off in the commitments of four California based players and another late add from the Arizona junior college ranks.
Interestingly the two former Arizona Wildcat coaches, saw little joy in the Arizona high school ranks with no Grand Canyon State prep prospects making an official visit to Oklahoma, much less committing to the Sooners.
However, the Sooners remain vigilant in the state and this week threw their hat in the ring with one of the nation's elite offensive guards, Phoenix Mountain Pointe's Natrell Curtis. Interestingly though the offer was made by neither Stoops nor Kish.
