The Nebraska coaching staff has traveled a lot of miles and put in considerable time developing contacts and laying the groundwork in California in order to benefit from the football recruiting riches located there. It enabled them to strike gold for this class in signing arguably the top running back and quarterback prospects in the state, as well as well as possible future starters on the offensive line and at safety.

Terrell Newby may be the gem of the bunch as he is NU's highest rated recruit, and it may never have happened if Husker Coach Rich Fisher hadn't convinced him to postpone his imminent commitment to Cal last summer and attend the Big Red Weekend instead.
