Wallace moves up
AUBURN -- The last nine months of Jonathan Wallace's life could have been more unexpected.
He was a run-first quarterback out of Central High in Phenix City who committed to Central Florida last fall. Hours before National Signing Day, the Tigers offered Wallace a scholarship and he accepted.
Nobody in the Tigers' signed class had a lower profile.
He'll be starting against New Mexico State this weekend, consummating one of the greatest rags-to-riches stories in recent memory. Hard work made it happen.
"He's first one here, last one to leave," tight end C.J. Uzomah said. "Watching film constantly trying to evaluate himself. Trying to fix the little things that he does incorrectly and do them correctly. I feel I speak for the entire team when I say, we're really confident in him and that he works probably one of the hardest out of anybody here."
