The Beavers victory in the Rose Bowl today was more than important for the win-loss column as it is already paying dividends on the recruiting trail.

The Beavers picked up a verbal commitment from Fontana (Calif.) Summit defensive back Justin Strong. The 5-foot-11, 185 pound safety wasted no time in pulling the trigger.

"Yes, I committed today after they beat UCLA," Strong said.

"I had kind of been planning to commit for awhile, but was going to wait and maybe take a visit or two," he said. "But I knew that is where I wanted to go and I fit in really well with the players and coaches, so I just decided to commit today."
