Day 3 rewind: full speed ahead
The end of the first week of spring football practice for Oregon State marked the first time the players have been practicing in pads since the end of last November.
Naturally, the tempo and physicality of practice picked up a little more with it being the first day in pads. Saturday's practice was also by far the longest out of the first three.
On the field of Reser, the team spent a significant portion installing and walking through new plays on offense and defense. With the entire three hours being utilized, Saturday was a big step in spring practice in getting back in a rhythm for the next few weeks of spring ball.
"It was fun to get the pads on and get a little bit more realistic look at football," said head coach Mike Riley. "We didn't tackle full-speed today, but it was pretty good and it was pretty long and I thought they handled it well."
