McElwain pleased with first practice
Ryan Krous
GoldandGreenNews.com New head coach Jim McElwain spoke to reporters after a two hour practice Wednesday afternoon to discuss how the team looked. Coach Mac said he was pleased with the team's tempo and their response to the new staff. Other topics he covered:
- The recent fighting incident involving LB Mike Orakpo, DE Nordly Capi, and offensive tackle Ty Sambrailo.
- Middle linebacker Michael Kawulok, who started two years ago before injuring his knee, will take a medical redshirt for his senior season, as his surgically repaired knee will no longer allow him to compete at the level he wants to.
