Ballard proud to be a Bulldog
Last season against Arkansas, Vick Ballard carried the ball 33 times for 150 yards and three touchdowns.
But only one play stands out in his mind.
Ballard was stripped of the ball while stretching for the goal line on first-and-goal for a potential game winning score. But the ball traveled through the end zone for a touchback giving the Razorbacks another chance in the second overtime, one they cashed in on to steal a 38-31 victory in Starkville.
"The only thing I remember is when that dude knocked the ball out of my hand at the end," Ballard said. "If I'm in the same situation I'm going to make sure that doesn't happen again.
"He just made a play. I didn't even see him coming. I broke a tackle and I was trying to catch my balance and dive for the end zone. I had my back towards him so I didn't know he was coming. If I knew he was coming I wouldn't have stretched the ball out. As soon as I stretched the ball out he smacked it."
