Our takes after the Alabama game
>Vanderbilt suffered a 34-0 loss to Alabama on Saturday. Our post-game coverage continues as VandySports.com experts Jesse Johnson and Chris Lee give their "takes" on the state of VU football following the game.
1. The Commodores won't face anyone like Alabama again. Not even close. After watching Alabama and LSU on Saturday, I can't think of a year where the top two teams in the Southeastern Conference were this much ahead of everyone else
and teams No. 3 and 4, which are Arkansas and South Carolina, in some order, are top-15 teams.
Alabama's supposed weakness was its inability to throw the ball downfield, but A.J. McCarron got the best of VU's pass defense, which had more interceptions per game than anyone in America coming in. If that's the Crimson Tide's weak spot
well, let's just say there are a lot of offensive and defensive coordinators having nightmares Saturday night, if that wasn't the case already.
