Hawkeyes land New Jersey LB
The Iowa coaching staff missed out on New Jersey linebacker Quinton Alston the first time around when he verbally committed to Pittsburgh in June. So when the 6-foot-1, 234-pound Alston reopened his recruiting following two coaching changes at Pitt this past month, the Hawkeyes quickly made their move to get him on board.
"I committed to Iowa," said Alston. "Coach Ferentz came by the school with Coach Wilson on Friday and he was talking about his plans for the future and about the stability, the academics, and the football program at Iowa. I was looking into his eyes the whole time and I could tell he was very sincere and very passionate about what he was saying."
"You could tell just by the way he talks and by the way he carries himself how he feels about his players and just his passion for the game," he continued. "Anybody that admires football like that, like I do, I can put my belief in them."
