Week 3: What we learned
What did we discover about the Florida Gators during Saturday's 31-17 win over archrival Tennessee at Neyland Stadium? For starters, that Florida's youthful roster wasn't intimidated by a crowd of 100,000-plus fans. What else? Find out in our Week 3 version of What we learned.
1. A young Gators squad can handle a hostile environment on the road. In front of 102,455 fans at famed Neyland Stadium (most of whom were wearing Tennessee orange), Florida for the most part acquitted itself well. Sure, there were a few busted coverages, a few missed tackles, a few missed blocking assignments and a few bobbled footballs, but by and large the noise never seemed to throw Florida off. When the Gators needed a big play, when the crowd was at its loudest, Florida responded with something positive more often then not. What makes that all the more impressive is that the Gators had 21 players on the dress roster making their first road trip.
