Coach Pat Fitzgerald offered Mark Szott a scholarship in his office after the superback from Aurora (Ill.) Waubonsie Valley attended a 7-on-7 camp in Evanston. Szott verballed to Fitzgerald on the spot, mere seconds after receiving the offer. That may seem like a rash decision, but in reality, it had been a commitment more than eight years in the making.
