Rose talks Tide
Rivals100 cornerback Jonathan Rose is perhaps the top uncommitted prospect in the state of Alabama for the Class of 2011 and the four-star prospect continues to receive recruiting attention from a number of the South's top programs. This weekend, Rose was in Tuscaloosa to check out the first two days of the Alabama Crimson Tide's summer camp and came away with a new and strong impression of the Alabama program.
"I got to Alabama on Sunday and stayed through Monday night. We ended everything on Monday by playing 'Bama Ball' which is a little like 7-on-7. It brought out the best in everyone definitely," said Rose. "Marvin Shinn looked good and I thought Danny Woodson was one of the better receivers. He stayed in my ear pretty good about coming to Alabama with him.
Rose said he was impressed with head coach Nick Saban's close involvement with the event and the personal attention that both he and the rest of the camp attendees received from the Tide head coach.
"Coach Saban was really, really involved with the camp. I mean he was right in there instructing us on everything. It was great to see, because even though he is the head man he is out there coaching hard at a camp. He definitely showed me a lot of things I can take back and use to improve my game. Coach (Jeremy) Pruitt too. Coach Pruitt spent extra time with me and we watched film together. This was definitely a learning and work camp. If you didn't come to work hard and learn, you probably didn't have a good time."
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound defensive back said he plans on taking at least one more visit to Tuscaloosa this summer.
"Alabama has really come on strong with me. I am going to have to take some time and think about everything. I am going back to Alabama in July for a couple more days," said Rose. "I have been to Auburn so much and there is just a different comfort level there because of how many times I have been. I want to spend more time at Alabama and with their coaching staff to see if everything clicks.
"It may be a little while before I make a decision. I really just want to make sure I do it right and pick the place that is going to be best for me in all areas."
Rose boasts a 4.49 forty time and a 36-inch vertical leap. He is rated the nations No. 60 overall prospect.
