Neuheisel pleased with performance
It was a much more chipper Rick Neuheisel after Tuesday's practice. There were plays made by both sides of the ball and there appears to be a team being molded out there on the practice field. The offensive line, even though hit with injuries, continues to improve and that so many players are getting looks that bodes well for the depth of the unit.
The offensive line is still a work in progress, but the work looks like it is going in a positive direction. UCLA's head coach appeared very content after practice.
Neuheisel: "I was pleased. There were some good things in critical situations. Coming off the goal line statistics bear out that if you don't get out of there with two first downs, 70 percent of the time you are giving up points to the opposition and conversely you hold them down there as a defense then you are creating scoring great opportunities for your offense with a short field.
