Jones gets it done, on and off the field
There is no question that Datone Jones put in the work this offseason, on and off the field. He is now weighing 265 and hasn't lost any quickness. He hasn't slowed down on his progress in the classroom either. Jones and his academic achievement are a great testimony for what the college experience can do for a youngster.
Jones talks about his performance thus far this spring.
"I haven't lost any quickness," Jones said. "I have been running a lot on the sand dunes, hills and different fast twitch movements so I have lost a step.
On Saturday much to the chagrin of Bruin junior running back, Derrick Coleman, Jones used his quickness and demolished Coleman on the very first play of the 11-on-11 drill. The hit brought a lot of oohs and ahs from the fans in the stands.
