Lucas shows focus, resolve in return from injury
SPOKANE, Wash. - It was a good news, bad news day for the Spartans during Saturday's press conference ahead of Michigan State's showdown with ACC champion Maryland.
The good news for both teams is that No. 1 seeded Kansas is no longer an impediment to a Final Four run. The bad news for Michigan State is that all-Big Ten point guard Kalin Lucas will be less than 100 percent for Maryland and there is a chance that junior wing Chris Allen might not even play against the Terps.
Lucas will play against Maryland. The Spartans' leading scorer was even back practicing with his teammates less than 24 hours after suffering slight ankle sprain during the second half of Michigan State's 70-67 win over New Mexico State.
