Collins makes case for Player of the Year
If Sherron Collins wasn't a serious contender for National Player of the Year before Wednesday night's game against Baylor - the 5-foot-11, 200-pound guard from Chicago, Ill., certainly threw his name into the ring with his performance against the Bears. Collins scored a game-high 28 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field, including 5-of-9 from behind the arc. After a closely contested second half, No. 3 ranked Kansas (17-1; 3-0) made just enough plays down the stretch to slip past Baylor, 81-75.
