Collins ignites KU with career-high 33 points
Trailing by one point late in Wednesday's game against Cornell, Kansas senior Sherron Collins knew a play had to be made. Having trailed for much of the game and only a few seconds remaining, time was simply running out on the Jayhawks. So, as he had done for much of the game, Collins took matters into his own hands. Late in the game, Collins took the ball coast-to-coast and was fouled on his way to the basket. In converting the old-fashioned three-point play, he gave KU the lead for the first time in the second half. In scoring a career-high 33 points, Collins helped Kansas win its 51 straight game inside Allen Fieldhouse.
