Practice Insider: Barkley's had up-and-down year

USCFootball.com When USC head coach Pete Carroll announced Matt Barkley would be the Trojans' starting quarterback before the season, many people expected it to be an up-and-down kind of year.
Turns out, those people were right.
Barkley's completed more than half his passes (164-of-278), but he's thrown only one more touchdown (12) than interceptions (11), and USC has had its most losses in a season since 2001.
